Absolutely stunning. I've always wanted to visit Austria and Bavaria to see for myself the beauty of the country, but it's awesome to be able to 'hear' their beauty. :)

Glad you enjoyed the music. Strauss really does an amazing job of creating a picture in the listener's mind. I hope you have a chance to listen to the whole piece, it is quite something. If you do, I suggest finding a quiet place so you can listen to the whole piece at least once without distraction or interruption. When you listen to it complete, you get a much stronger sense of the journey up and down the mountain.

This was excellent, and as somebody who "bags" mountain peaks, I absolutely loved it. I really am looking forward to hearing the whole symphone However, I couldn't find anywhere to purchase a download of this particular rendition as you gave it such a rave review. Is there a site that has that or is it only possible to purchase the physical CD? If not is there another good recording that can be purchased on-line?
